Jessie J 'Bourjois' Lipgloss advertisment

My Jessie J 'Bourjois' Lipgloss advertisment. I made this campaign on Photoshop by combining different images of Jessie J together. I split the images as it makes the advertisment look more modern and appealing. It shows both sides of Jessie J, a glamorous side and a more edgy side. I chose the picture with her wearing a bright pink lipgloss as it matches the Bourjois lipgloss branding, it stands out as it is a vibrant colour and it is the same colour as the Bourjois brand. I decided to include the popular 'JessieJ' font as this shows her brand aswell as the other brand and it is able to catch the eye of other Jessie J fans. This is an example of cross-media convergence and synergy as it is two different companies coming together to promote the same thing which is the lipgloss. The target audience would be for young females who are interested in this form of make-up. This would also allow Jessie J to have a wider audience and it would also benefit the brand.

WIRELESS MUSIC FESTIVAL 2013!!!

WOW! Tinie Tempah shows off his music skills at this years Wireless music festival. What an amazing performance right? After watching a lot of Wireless clips, I have been able to make a few assumptions about things.

Top Boy, Channel 4 Review

Top Boy is a series which focuses on gangs and police. This show has its roots firmly in reality as it shows what many teenagers today go through. I watched a recent episode of the show and noticed a few things.

It is clear by the language that is used on the show that it is directly aimed at the youth of today. The show has a majority of young kids and teens going through struggles in an drug-driven estate. All who seem to be trying to get out of it or simply doing it because that's how they've been brought up. Me being a teen myself, I quite enjoyed the show. I mean, many people my age would. The way they talk can be understood by many teens nowadays and that's one thing that makes the show more enjoyable. They tend to use words like 'blud', 'fam' and other slang terms. Although people like me don't really use those terms, it's nice to be able to see something on tv that's very real, rather than those forced shows that try to portray the way teens act and speak but do it in a terrible way!

One character in the show called Dushane (Ashley Walters), who has lived his whole life on the fictional Summerhouse estate in Hackney, wants to get on with making something of himself, which means drugs. He is represented to the audience as tough young black male who many of the youth look up to. He is considered as the father of the estate in a sense that they respect him and do everything he asks them to do. Dushane seems like a well mannered male who only has respect for the people who show him respect in return.

Another character Sully (Kano) who is Dushanes friend, seems to be another tough young male on the estate. Although he is not as high in the hierarchy as Dushane, he too gains a lot of respect from the youth in the community. He dresses in hooded tops and baggy clothing and is portrayed as a 'gangster' in the estate.

Overall, I think this show has done really well portraying the youth of today. It shows real life situations and can also teach teens a lot.
